Brokeback Sims-Mountain

It's clear that the film, Brokeback Mountain, is on the verge of becoming an Internet meme: our sister blog's TUAW and Cinematical have featured several fan videos inspired by the movie. Highlights include Broke Mac Mountain and Brokeback to the Future. The world of video games seems to have missed out on the "gay cowboy" action, until now that is. A member of modthesims2.com has created Sims models of Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger as their "Brokeback Mountain" characters Jack Twist & Ennis Del Mar. You can see the pair of sims above, frollicking away.

i thought
"the sims" was just a fad.
turns out people actually waste time making skins, for it!? sad.
Pince @ Feb 9th 2006 6:46PM
I don't quite get it. Were the sims models made by a fan of the movie or just to make a distasteful farce?

dan the man, your comment is both immature and offensive... your ignorance is not wanted, nor needed.
Have a good day.

But if we carpet nuked Australia, what would happen to all the crocodiles and kangaroos?? ;-)
Jago @ Feb 9th 2006 8:47PM
I swear...Brokeback Mountain is such an overhyped movie it is not even funny. The ONLY thing that made it contraversial is that it had 2 gay cowboys in the 1960s-1970s...THAT'S IT!!!
It was a decent movie but in no way is it worth all nominations it is getting or the attention it is getting.
I would also like to second #6's comment on what "Dan the Man" said.

Dan, what scares me the more than your bigotry is the fact that you are going to reproduce.
AJH @ Feb 9th 2006 9:17PM
'Dan the Man..?"You not too sure about your own sexuality are you?-
come on,Dan the man?sounds like a cheap mail order dildo to me,or a inflatable 'friend'.
Get over it mate, good movie, good sims mod-keep your trailer park red neck comments to yourself-and just come out of your closet.
(oh,and I am a gay Australian BTW...)

I don't think this is big enough news to be worth posting. A large portion of this site's visitors aren't very mature, and this post just begs hateful comments and descrimination from them.

You know, it's funny that some narrow minded people get upset about two men gettin' it on. But if it was Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan in "Brokeback Valley," they'd be all drooling over it -- and probably making Sims skins themselves!

Great models! Now I'm going to find out what other famous gay men, lesbians and trans folk skins there are kicking around. The sims may pull me back in once again :)

I wish I knew how to quit you!

geves, do you have your head in the sand? The Sims franchise is one of the most successful out there these days. Take a look at the NPD sales charts for PC games and they are consistantly in the top 5.
"Fads" by behind.
